El 1ro de Mayo de 1958 nacía la Provincia de Santa Cruz con el impulso desarrollista de su primer gobernador constitucional, el Dr. Mario C. Paradelo.
Más allá de la inmensa obra que implico la creación de todas las instituciones necesarias para el correcto funcionamiento provincial, una lista que sería larga de enumerar pero que le consumió mucho tiempo, el Gobernador Paradelo tenía un claro plan para la provincia: convertirla en un polo de desarrollo energético e industrial en el que se pudiera apalancar la Nación para terminar de salir del sistema productivo agroganadero y reconvertirnos en un país industrializado y potente.
La fundación de 28 de Noviembre es una de las manifestaciones efectiva del pensamiento desarrollista. Mejorar y dignificar las condiciones de vida de los trabajadores del carbón impactó en forma directa en su capacidad de producción al tiempo que hizo atractivo a otros argentinos a radicarse en la cuenca.
De la misma forma el proyecto de las represas sobre el rio Santa Cruz y el desarrollo de los primeros estudios de factibilidad, marcaban en forma clara y precisa la vocación por el desarrollo del sector energético.
Por un lado el desarrollo de las energías tradicionales, buscando potenciar la capacidad instalada y llevarla a un nivel superior. Por otro lado el desarrollo de las nuevas energías sustentables y renovables.
En paralelo, mientras buscaba consolidar el sector energético buscaba sectores empresariales, industriales y emprendedores. Grandes inversores extranjeros para desarrollar la industria petroquímica o medianos empresarios nacionales dispuestos a montar una fábrica de autos en Rio Gallegos. Si leyó bien, una fábrica de autos, el Joseso, un desarrollo nacional de un vehículo económico. Y también los emprendedores, buscando explotar otra de nuestras potencialidades como fue y es la producción de lana, inaugurando la primera escuela textil de la provincia en el año 1959.
El proyecto de Paradelo quedó trunco, se impuso “la chiquita”, ese pensamiento mezquino de intereses personales, de celos y envidias; y la provincia perdió el rumbo.
Hoy, después de 60 años, el panorama sigue igual. Los intereses personales y mezquinos tomaron por asalto la provincia y la transformaron en un modelo de corrupción, autoritarismo y decadencia que, desgraciadamente, se impuso en el país y nos condena al atraso. Una visión pobrista del futuro que condena a nuestros hijos, a la provincia y a la Nación a vivir de la limosna y nos priva de la dignidad elemental de ganarnos nuestro sustento diario.
Somos la 3er provincia productora de petróleo del país, ocupamos el 2do lugar en la producción de lana y cuando esté terminado el complejo hidroeléctrico seremos los 2dos productores de energía eléctrica del país y nuestro característico viento patagónico, fuerte, constante, inagotable nos vuelve hoy a poner una oportunidad frente a nuestras narices con el desarrollo de las nuevas energías limpias.
Pero la historia siempre nos da nuevas posibilidades, es un proceso en desarrollo que nos permite ser protagonistas de nuestro propio destino. El sistema republicano de gobierno, adoptado por nuestros constituyentes allá por 1853, nos presenta cada dos años la oportunidad de manifestarnos y de decidir el rumbo de nuestro futuro y sin dudas el año 2021 nos pondrá frente a una encrucijada clave.
Debemos retomar el camino del progreso y del desarrollo, tenemos todas las potencialidades de ser uno de los motores de la Argentina en su camino de recuperación, de retomar los ideales de libertad, independencia y respeto por la ley de los Padres Fundadores de nuestra Patria como Belgrano, San Martín y Artigas y los ideales de desarrollo y progreso en Santa Cruz impulsados por nuestro 1er Gobernador.
Nuestros representantes deben ser personas de coraje, con el tesón de nuestros pioneros, férreos luchadores por nuestros derechos como los huelguistas del ´21 y abnegados patriotas y republicanos como Paradelo; no títeres aplaudidores o monitos entrenados para levantar la mano y votar leyes o regulaciones sin más motivaciones que la orden recibida por La Jefa.
En estas elecciones legislativas, no solo está en juego nuestro futuro como provincia, sino también nuestro futuro como país.
